They said he couldn’t run and he couldn’t jump. What Larry Bird lacked in natural athletic prowess he made up for with the heart of a lion and a jump shot that made even the most hardened NBA fans weak at the knees. It turned out that kid everyone knew as “The Hick from French Lick” oozed talent beyond belief. Soon enough, Boston could’ve replaced the “Bird” on the back of his famed No. 33 jersey with “Legend.” Downright deadly from the outside and as fierce a competitor as you’ll ever see, Bird arrived in Beantown in 1979-80 and instantly made the Celtics title contenders as the NBA Rookie of the Year. The honors kept rolling in. The forward’s career haul includes three NBA titles, two Finals MVP awards, three NBA MVP trophies, 12 All-Star nods and a spot in Boston’s rafters.

About the Artist

Grzegorz Domaradzki, also known as Gabz, is an artist, illustrator and graphic designer from Poland.  In 2003, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań with a Masters degree in Graphic Arts and Drawing. Gabz has been featured in numerous publications including Computer Arts, Advanced Photoshop, and Digital Arts Magazine and accrued an ever-growing international client list such as Nike, Coca-Cola, Ubisoft, Sony Ericsson and Red Bull. His brother Krzysztof is also featured as an artist on RareInk.
