Artist Krzysztof Domaradski, also known as Kxx, captures one of the NBA’s greatest rivalries in this striking painting of Larry Bird and Magic Johnson battling for position during the NBA Finals. Available in limited edition fine art prints and stretched canvases.

East Coast vs. West Coast, glitz and glamour vs. blue collar, good vs. evil (that view depended on whether you called Boston or Los Angeles home, of course). The Larry Bird vs. Magic Johnson saga entailed everything a red-hot rivalry should — mutual respect, a tad of hatred and a whole lot of one-upsmanship. The icons first crossed paths in the 1979 NCAA Championship Game, and Johnson struck the opening blow in their head-to-head battle as his Michigan State crew bounced Bird’s Indiana State. The megastars, as luck would have it, were drafted by two of the most storied teams in all of sports. From there it was one 1980s clash after the next, with Johnson and Bird duking it out with NBA titles on the line in 1984, 1985 and 1987.  To this day, you can’t think Boston vs. L.A. without images of Bird and Johnson dancing through your mind.

About the Artist

Krzysztof Domaradski, also known as Kxx, is an artist, illustrator and graphic designer from Poland. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan were he received his Masters degree in Drawing and Metal Techniques. His work has been featured by numerous brands including Nike, Audi, Diesel, Sony, and Volkswagen. His brother Grzegorz is also featured as an artist on RareInk.
