As smooth as smooth can get, Drexler didn’t just swoop to the basket for lay-ups and dunks. He glided to the rim, making his nickname one of the most fitting the NBA has ever seen: “Clyde the Glide.” Drexler put in his college work as part of the University of Houston’s heralded “Phi Slamma Jamma” squads of the early 1980s, reaching the NCAA Final Four twice. From there he graduated to the NBA, where Portland was waiting for him with the 14^th overall pick in 1983. That was the start of a beautiful relationship with the Trail Blazers fan base. Maturing into a star during an era when the league was overflowing with all-time greats, Drexler fit into the ’80s NBA perfectly. Portland’s all-time leading scorer, Drexler made 10 NBA All-Star teams and fueled the Trail Blazers to the NBA Finals in 1989-90 and ’91-92.

About the Artist

Grzegorz Domaradzki, also known as Gabz, is an artist, illustrator and graphic designer from Poland.  In 2003, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań with a Masters degree in Graphic Arts and Drawing. Gabz has been featured in numerous publications including Computer Arts, Advanced Photoshop, and Digital Arts Magazine and accrued an ever-growing international client list such as Nike, Coca-Cola, Ubisoft, Sony Ericsson and Red Bull. His brother Krzysztof is also featured as an artist on RareInk.
